2020 Lexus ES350 Key Fob Coding by an automotive locksmith

In this job we had to program new a key fob for a 2020 ES350.

As you can see in the video, first we had to erase all previous keys and only then to start the programming process for the new key fob.

So first we had to use the “Reset immobilizer” option to erase all previous keys. This is usually done by locksmiths when the customer is afraid someone stole his keys and may use it to steal the car.

In this case, before we program new keys we will have to make sure that the old keys wont work anymore.

Once we finished that, we changed to: “Add prox keys” option.

There you can see there are 7 available spots for new keys. This is the maximum numbers of keys allowed to be used with this vehicle. (spare keys)

To actually program the key we will have to put them next to the push to start button so the computer can recognize and register the new keys.

One important thing to mention, the first key we tried to program, didn’t work out as you can see. The reason is because it had a different FCC. FCC is the key type and even though that there are keys that  look the same, they have different FCC (or different chip value inside).

This is why the first key wont register but the second one was successfully registered.
