However, there is one very important difference between them and it’s the chip value of the key or the transponder value. 

As you can see in the video, one of the keys has a value of 47 and the other one has a value of 13.

In other words, while one key will start a specific Honda year and model, the other one will not.

There is a simple way to know which key will work and which will not by using this tool called the chip reader.

You simply put the key in the reader and it will tell you the chip value of your key.

From there, the locksmith can use the special coding machine to program the key to start the car.
