How to start Subaru Crosstrek with a dead key fob battery

In this job one of our affiliated locksmiths had to make new keys for a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek.

We asked to make a short video to show you how to start your Subaru in case the key fob battery is dead and you cant start it. As you can see in the video, when he pushes the buttons nothing happens because of the dead battery. Of course, he wont be able to start the car like that.

This is when you have to put the key fob next to the push to start button. This is where the chip is located and when its close enough, the car can read the chip manually. 

Its important to mention that this is relevant for all Subaru models that use a key fob. 

As always, it would be a good idea to replace the battery as soon as you can.
