How to start your Kia Optima with a dead key fob
Once in a while you will need to replace your key fob battery as the signal gets weaker.
It is good to know, however, what to do in case your key fob battery is dead and you don’t have a replacement battery.
In the videos below, we will show you how to start your Kia Optima in a situation where you don’t have a replacement battery.
Also remember that with the emergency key, you will be able to unlock the doors and get into the car.
Then, all you will have to do is put the remote near the push to start button, push the break paddle and start as you normally would.
A good sign to know when the battery is dead or that the car isn’t recognizing the key fob is by the message displayed on the dash which will say: “No Key Detected”
